The Inner Sleeve is the piece that carries the bowler's actual thumb fit and slides in and out of the permanently installed Outer Sleeve. With the 1 1/4" urethane slug already in place, your pro shop can drill it directly to the bowler's thumb size without needing a separate solid — saving a step during fitting. It lets bowlers use the same comfortable thumb hole across every ball in their bag, or quickly adjust fit as their thumb swells or shrinks throughout a match. No more taping and re-taping — just twist, click, and bowl with total confidence.
Note that the Switch Grip NX Inner Sleeve features larger, redesigned locking tabs than the Original Switch Grip® and is only compatible with the NX Outer Sleeve — it will not lock into the original Outer Sleeve, so bowlers upgrading to NX will need to replace both pieces in each of their balls.

What is the Turbo Switch Grip NX Inner Sleeve with 1 1/4" slug used for?
This Inner Sleeve is the removable half of the Switch Grip NX system, pre-loaded with a 1 1/4" urethane thumb solid. It holds the bowler's actual thumb fit and locks into the permanently installed Outer Sleeve, allowing the same thumb fit to be moved between different bowling balls in seconds.
Is the 1 1/4" slug already installed, or do I need to add it myself?
The 1 1/4" 100% urethane thumb solid comes pre-installed in the sleeve, so your pro shop can drill it directly to the bowler's thumb size without fitting a separate solid.
Is this Inner Sleeve compatible with the Original Switch Grip Outer Sleeve?
No. The NX Inner Sleeve features larger, redesigned locking tabs that only fit the Switch Grip NX Outer Sleeve. Bowlers switching to NX need to replace both the Inner and Outer Sleeve in every ball, since the two generations are not cross-compatible (Turbo Grips NX installation video).
How is this different from the 1 3/8" slug version?
Both use the same Dual-Winged Tabs and Dual Snap™ Locking System and lock into the same NX Outer Sleeve. The difference is thumb solid size — this version has a 1 1/4" urethane slug, which fits smaller thumb dimensions than the 1 3/8" option.
Do I need the Outer Sleeve too, or does this come as a complete set?
The Inner Sleeve requires a Switch Grip NX Outer Sleeve, sold separately, permanently installed in the thumb hole. The two pieces work together to complete the interchangeable thumb assembly.
Can I install this myself?
The Outer Sleeve installation and drilling the pre-installed solid to final thumb size should be done by a qualified pro shop technician. Once installed, bowlers can easily insert and remove the Inner Sleeve themselves with a simple twist and click.
