Product Description
SWAG Serpent Hybrid Bowling Ball
The Black Dragon quickly became a favorite among both customers and our team, thanks to its outstanding performance. Demand for this ball far exceeded our expectations, making it a challenge to keep in stock. Now, we are thrilled to introduce its partner—the Serpent Hybrid.
SWAG’s Superior Performance Line has already earned a reputation for delivering high-end results at an unbeatable value, thanks to the success of the Dragon Line. Now, we’re taking that same winning formula even further with the introduction of the Serpent Hybrid. Featuring the all-new Serpent Core, engineered with a higher RG for enhanced downlane motion, and paired with our Serum Hybrid AP26 coverstock, this ball delivers a powerful midlane read with great backend reaction. The Serpent Hybrid is the perfect complement to the line.
DESIGN INTENT:
Speed > Revs–The Serpent establishes a new benchmark for bowlers with faster ball speeds, enabling them to achieve more downlane motion without giving away control and hitting power from the large asymmetrical core. Its cutting-edge Serpent Asymmetric core, boasting a 2.51 RG, .048 differential, and .016 mass bias strength, provides outstanding power and performance usually seen in more expensive models. Combined with the Serum AP26 Hybrid cover, this ball provides unparalleled backend strength and control for bowlers with lower revolutions, making it a reliable choice for players who are speed dominant. Designed for consistent and predictable strong movement, the Serpent is the ideal choice for speed dominant players.
Balanced Speed & Revs – In our trials, balanced bowlers appreciated the Serpent for its great backend, excellent control, powerful continuation, and consistent performance on heavily oiled lanes. They found it durable enough to use for longer periods compared to other high-performance balls during league play. The combination of the Serum AP26 cover and the potent Serpent Asym core provides adaptability, enabling bowlers to easily adjust to varying lane conditions. This design allows bowlers to confidently maintain throwing the Serpent longer, even on fresh oil, without needing to change. The enhanced RG enables its use when the Black Dragon is a touch to early and when the Black Dragon Pearl is a bit to long and not enough overall hook.
Rev > Speed – The Serpent bowling ball is a game-changer for rev-dominant bowlers because of its smart core design. If you’ve experienced excessive forward movement down the lane with traditional asymmetrical balls, you’re not alone. Many of those balls feature overly exaggerated core shapes, such as large, protruding discs, making them hard to control. The Serpent’s Asymmetrical Core solves this issue. Like the Dragon core it shares the same idea but the higher RG enables it to push further down the lane than the Dragon core.
This core is designed to replicate the shape of symmetrical cores but with a larger intermediate differential, providing the ideal balance of control and power. It excels in handling heavy oil without compromising predictability. Furthermore, with the new Serum AP26 hybrid formula, rev-dominant bowlers can confidently use this ball during transitions or at deeper angles—moves that weren’t previously possible with asymmetrical cores.
The Serpent merges the smooth, dependable motion of symmetrical balls with the increased hitting power of a large asym core. It truly offers the best of both worlds! Prepare to dominate the lanes like never before.

A Definate House Shot Killer
With a 50 x 4.5 x 30 layout, the Swag Serpent has honestly become my favorite piece when I’m bowling on a house shot. As soon as I started throwing it, I could tell it was built for this condition. It gets through the front part of the lane super clean for me, then picks up strong in the midlane and makes a hard, confident move off the spot. What I love most is how much miss room it gives me—I can leak it left or tug it a bit right, and it still finds the pocket. It lets me open up my angles and stay aggressive without worrying about overreaction. When I need strikes on a typical house shot, this is the ball I trust.

Big Asym with Big Motion
The Serpent follows one of Swag's most well received lines in the Dragon Solid and Dragon Pearl. Adding the new AP26 additive to the Serpent coverstock has provided a boost in strength and recovery without sacrificing friction response. Similar to the other Dragons, the Serpent complements the Judge/Judgment lines really well with a partial step down in total board coverage and strength, but increasing backend shape when angle and carry are needed. Many league bowlers love watching a ball get down the lane and make a big move into the pocket, and the Serpent perfectly matches the eye for that type of motion. As someone who needs bigger equipment on tougher conditions, the Serpent slots in perfectly as my versatile big asym ball that provides a balanced blend of torque and control while still continuing through the pins with energy. Some of my college athletes asked to throw mine and were immediately impressed with the overall balance of the ball on tough conditions. For those who only want to carry a single big ball, this one has the versatility to serve as a pseudo-1 ball with surface, or a versatile ball that covers a range of needs when asym torque is required without getting too chuggy and early in the heads. My stats: 18mph/~450rpm/low axis tilt/med-high axis rotation Tested ball on THS, Kegel Arsenic, Kegel Eiffel Tower, USBC OC 2025 S/D, and 2023 ISC Nationals patterns.

Sssomething wicked
There is a reason this ball is green: It prints money. I went with my favorite layout of 60x5”x30 and was immediately impressed with how easy the ball revs up, it’s length and continuation. As I got more and more confident letting the ball go, it responded with stronger and more powerful shots, often sending the craziest messengers I’ve seen. Some of the strikes were extremely loud and immediately got people asking what ball I was throwing and a lot of comments from the gallery. This ball was likely intended to be a Black Dragon Hybrid before the invention of AP26 adhesion performance and it’s a whole new creature now all its own. The new coverstock additive has genuinely made a big difference in how this ball reacts and how much energy it retains. This ball works best for me on medium-heavy to medium-light conditions and has impressed me with its ability to blend difficult conditions and carrydown. It doesn’t shape quite the same as the Black Dragons that came before it but it definitely has that same hitting power, possibly even more and better control, even at 3000 grit. Taking the surface down may truly unleash this beast. By far one of my favorite releases from Swag Bowling.

My go-to for medium transition
The Serpent is a very clean, responsive ball that really shines once the lanes start to transition. It gets through the front part of the lane with ease and stores a lot of energy, which shows up with a strong but controlled backend motion. What I like most is that it doesn’t feel over/under—it’s predictable, but still has enough pop to kick corners when you need it. It’s a great option when stronger pieces start reading too early or burning up. I’ve found it to be especially useful on medium conditions or later in blocks where you need length without losing hitting power. It also takes surface adjustments well if you want to fine-tune the reaction. Overall, the Serpent is a great step-down option that still hits hard and gives you confidence as the lanes open up.

This snake will bite
The Swag Serpent is a standout piece that delivers explosive performance and dependable control. With its dynamic asymmetric core and aggressive coverstock combination, the Serpent shines on medium to heavy oil patterns, offering strong midlane traction and a sharp, continuous backend motion. It reads the lane exceptionally well, providing predictable ball motion that inspires confidence even in challenging conditions. The hook potential is impressive without feeling jerky, allowing bowlers to shape angles and attack the pocket with authority. What really sets the Serpent apart is its versatility—it transitions smoothly through different lane conditions and maintains hitting power throughout. If you’re seeking a reliable benchmark with plenty of bite and the ability to carry through the pins, the Swag Serpent is a powerful, high-performance choice worth adding to your equipment arsenal.

Dragon or Serpent?
The answer to this question is simple…its both. The Serpent is the perfect compliment to the Dragon line. This ball has that very comfortable, controllable motion like the Dragons, but being a hybrid, it gives you that little extra on the back end that the Dragon Solid doesn’t but also gives you that smoother roll if the Dragon Pearl is getting a little too snappy. For those of you who don’t own a dragon…well shame on you…just kidding, but this ball is very smooth and controllable, it never gets snappy and unpredictable. For me I have a 5-inch pin, 2 handed and this ball just gets through the front, hits the spot, turns and through the pins. Aesthetically this ball is clean looking, and the serpent logo makes a statement sitting on the ball return. Get one of these bad boys and put some Swag in your bag!

Was always a pesrl guy but sometimes you need more. This hybrid is a great fit in .your bag Can play any angle. With Swag's new AP26 coverstock additives, the ball seams to read the lanes easily and wipe off even easier. This ball is one of a kind.

SWAG Serpent Hybrid – My Smooth Power Piece
When the pattern starts to blend out and I need control without losing pop, I go to my SWAG Serpent Hybrid. For me, it gives that perfect in-between reaction — clean enough through the fronts, strong in the midlane, and a smooth but confident move off the spot. It’s not jumpy, not lazy… just reliable motion that keeps me in the pocket. What I really like is the continuation. It doesn’t roll out — it keeps driving and carrying light hits. When I need something dependable that still hits hard, the Serpent Hybrid is my move.

Beast
I chose this ball because it was supposed to be the perfect complement to the Black Dragon. I was late to the game purchasing a Black Dragon, but once I did, it quickly became the first ball out of my bag. Now that the Serpent is in the picture, how will I ever decide. I have had the opportunity to throw four complete games with this ball going back-to-back 215’s followed by a 229 and 246. The down lane motion of this ball is great when you are looking for more length before the powerful backend reaction. I can’t wait to get more games on this ball and use this in tournaments in other venues and varying lane conditions. Will be looking to complete the 1, 2, 3 punch of the Black Dragon, Serpent Hybrid, and Dragon Pearl.
